Happy Birthday — to me

On Sunday, my two favorite men in the world — my husband, Tom, and my son, Kris — took me to Antares for my birthday. That’s the restaurant at the top of Reunion Tower at the Dallas Hyatt Regency, a landmark made famous by the opening credits of the "Dallas" TV series.

Despite the rainy weather that obscured the usually-spectacular views somewhat, dinner was great. The restaurant rotates, about one full turn per hour, so you can see the city from every direction. Here’s a view of the infamous triple underpass that goes into downtown Dallas from the West.

Kris is at that age where he hates having his picture taken, and I promised I wouldn’t publish any of him on the web, so I had to crop this one. Luckily, Tom and I aren’t quite as shy.
